The Story
Lightweight veg tanned, heritage UK tanned goat leather with a gold metallic foil. The reverse natural base colour is lighter than cowhide/calf leather tannages.Â
The gold surface is made by applying foil to the grain surface. After foiling the surface is very flat and bright. During even the most careful handling the foil can form occasional small creases. These are usually integrated into the design of what is being made.
If creases form it is because the leather has taken a concave shape. When this happens, the thin foil has to compress in on itself, because it has nowhere to go, hence the small creases. When the leather is made into products in many ways it looks more “leathery”, almost like an ageing process.
Thickness - 0.8-1.0mm
Available as a craft cut A3 size 29.7cm x 42cm (11.7" x 16.5") or whole skin approx 5-6 sq ftÂ
USES: wallets, inserts, linings, card cases, clutch bags, handbags, jewelry, head pieces, paneling. Can be quilted, painted or printed onto.
These leathers all come of UK grass fed stock, and have been tanned in England using traditional processes including pit liming and tanning.
Ideal for crafters including small leathergoods, card making, mosaic work, collage and trimmings, fashion, TV and film costume and more.

They are part of our GUEST LEATHER that means we won't be able to get more once they are sold
